The CRO was called by the Police Control room at about 15:45, to a person reported hurt and lost in Swildons Hole in Priddy.  The MRO (Cave Rescue) were alerted and recovered the male from the bottom of the 20ft pitch. He was largely unhurt, but had mild hypothermia, and was a little scared. The incident was stood-down, at 17:45.

A man was reported to have jumped from the Clifton Suspension Bridge , just before 16:00hrs.  The police, fire and ambulance control rooms all contacted the CRO for advice. The Paramedic reported the male to be dead on scene; having landed on top of the concrete canopy. The Fire and Rescue service were on scene with sufficient equipment and man-power to remove the body. No action was required from the team, so we were stood down at 16:12hrs.

At 04:43, Police Force Control called the CRO and asked for assistance with a ‘talk down' from the Clifton suspension bridge. A male despondent, was known to be on the bridge threatening to jump. Silent approach was advised, and two team members were dispatched to assist with the ‘talk down'. On arrival at scene, it was discovered that the Police were in contact with the male, it is was a simple job to move him to a place of safety. The team was stood down at 05:55.

The team CRO was called initially by ambulance control (EMDC), and then police force control at 14:10 Hrs. A female was reported to have jumped from the Clifton side of the Suspension Bridge. She was known to be still alive and a police officer and paramedic were attempting to reach her. A multi agency response was launched, that resulted in; police, fire and rescue service, A&S SAR and ambulance crews all combining their efforts to recover the woman back to the bridge. It was a great example of team work from all concerned. The incident was stood down at 16:15 hrs, when the casualty was taken to hospital at BRI.

The team was put on standby, to a despondent male, who had climbed down into the maintenance cage, suspended under the Clifton Bridge . The incident was attended by the police and Fire and Rescue Service. The man was ‘sectioned' and removed to a place of safety. The team was stood down.

Whilst on call to the ‘crag fast goat' incident, at 14:10, the team was called to investigate, reports of a solo climber on the Avon Gorge, who was believed to be in difficulties. The CRO attended and reported that nobody was at risk and the team was stood down.  The Police and Avon Fire and rescue service were also informed, and the incident was stood down at 14:40.

The team was called by ‘Secret World' animal rescue centre, at 13;05 to a goat that was crag fast on Brean Down, and was believed to be injured. The goat had been on a ledge for 3 days. The police were informed of our activity, and the Technical rescue team was assembled on the beach.  A team member, who is a vet, was abseiled down to inspect the animal. It tuned out to be pregnant, and not injured, and jumped down on to the beach, safe and well. The team was stood down at 15:30.

The duty PolSA called the Chief Rescue Officer at 00:23. A woman, believed to be of sane mind reported hearing, male cries for help coming from a wood near Dunster, in Somerset . The CRO recommended a hasty search by police officers and a police dog with a stand-by call to Exmoor SAR. The helicopter, Q99 was not available for service. During the night a mountain biker was reported missing from his home near Dunster. At first light ESART was called to search the area. The mountain biker turned up safe and well, and everyone was stood down at 15:20.

The police called the CRO and alerted him to an incident at Chilcompton in Somerset . An 86 year old despondent male had left home at about 01:30, believed to have been carrying a knife, and threatening suicide. The CRO was asked to attend and liaise with the local inspector, to act as PolSa until the police Chief Inspector could attend.  The police had a small search team and a dog handler. A small 1.2 KM search area was drawn up around the casualties address. The police helicopter was over flown but nothing was found. The full team was called at about 07:00 to RV at 09:00. The casualty was located by a farmer, about 1.5 Km from home, at about 07:30. He was very hypothermic, and confused. He was handed over to the ambulance paramedic at about 08:00. The team was stood down.

At 15:42 the cliff rescue team was called by the police to a male non climber, who had become stuck on a ledge in Avon Gorge, whilst ‘scrambling' with his friends. He was unharmed, and was lowered and escorted safely to the ground by team members. The incident closed at 17:15.

The team was called by Avon and Somerset Police, at 20:36 to assist with a despondent male, who was threatening to jump from the Clifton Bridge . The CRO called the ‘technical rescue' team and notified the Fire and rescue Service via the police control room. The team approached the Clifton end of the bridge, silently, and worked with the police inspector, to formulate a ‘talk down strategy'. The despondent male, returned to the safety of the bridge at 22:05. The team was stood down at 22:10.
