Our Capabilities
A&SSAR can provide a response and/or assistance with the following situations, (24/7 - 365 days a year) including emergency response.
- Cliff and Steep ground rescue, recovery and access
- Rescue from high and difficult structures, bridges, cranes etc.
- Land search and rescue
- Land search management advise
- Assistance with scene management and logistics
- Provision of safe access and assistance for personnel and equipment in and out of difficult locations
A&SSAR operates typically within the area of Avon and Somerset Police forces responsibility.
A&SSAR provides a trained and experienced response free to all. We regularly train with other agencies, such as Avon Ambulance Service, Avon and Somerset Police, RAF and other search rescue groups in England and Wales. Members of A&SSAR have excellent contacts with all emergency agency's at a local and national level. In addition members of A&SSAR are involved with local and outdoor organisations giving access to a vast amount of specialised local knowledge as well as giving access to local resources.
